Ever Heard Of A Vlog?

Social video sites like YouTube have given people the opportunity to express themselves in many different ways as we know, one specifically being vlogging

Most People on Youtube who do in fact vlog, sit down in front of their cameras and talk about anything. Vloggers mainly document and video tape bits of how they're spending their day share it with their viewers. This gives their viewers a better understanding of what the Youtubers life consists of outside of YouTube.

Some vloggers on Youtube go to the extreme where they've video tapped every single day for the past 5 years so far and posted them on youtube. These vloggers go by the name of "Daily Vloggers".

Here is a list of the most viewed daily vloggers on Youtube with up to 200,000 viewers on each of their daily vlogs:

  • Shaytards
  • Ctfxc
  • ItsJudysLife
  • BfvsGf
You may question, why would someone want to watch a video on youtube every single day for up to 5 years? Well see, these videos basically become an actual reality show for us viewers. Once a viewer starts to watch a couple daily blogs, they begin to wonder what the Youtubers did the day after that or day the day before that and their life almost becomes a necessity to watch. The viewers become a part of the Youtubers life, whatever the Youtuber goes through and experiences, viewers will go through it with them and be there to support them. For ItsJudysLife and Ctfxc, you can actually watch both of their marriage proposals as well as their weddings on Youtube.

For example, Charles Trippy, better known as Ctfxc, was diagnosed with a brain tumour around 2 years ago. Him and his wife Alli Trippy have been vlogging every single day non stop for over 5 years. Once the viewers heard the news about Charles, they reacted as any one of his family member did, he's was no stranger to them because they have watched him grow over 4 years every single day.

Till this day Charles has been fighting against his brain tumour with the love and support of their viewers.

In addition there are also weekly vloggers as well as casual vloggers. Weekly vloggers combine bits of their week and post it into one single video weekly and then casual vloggers happen to post a video whenever they go to events or have something special happening that day.

Here is a list of some of the most viewed weekly and casual vloggers on Youtube:

  • Watchusliveandstuff
  • Thatshearttv
  • MoreMarcus
  • MoreZoella
  • PointlessblogTv
  • TheTimothyDeLaGhetto
I personally happen to be one of those people who watches vlogs occasionally. I find it interesting to see the lives of these Youtubers outside of the site. People think that once someone is famous their lives are perfect and they have everything they want, these vlogs however, show that they also go through troubles and they're actual no different than us. Yes, they may be famous online, but they live the exact same life as us. They go to the movies, they shop at the mall, cook their own meals and go through all sorts of stuff we do.. they're no Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.

Let me know your thoughts on vlogs and whether you would be interested in watching them :)

  1. I don't usually watch vlogs because I think they're kind of boring, but I do watch a few every once in a while. Also, I recently discovered vlogmas where Vloggers vlog everyday in December until Christmas. I've watched the vlogmas videos on MoreZoella's channel and I loved them! I give credit to people who vlog because I've heard it can be quite difficult to vlog and edit everyday.

    1. Haha yes, some vlogs can become boring because they can get a little repetitive once in a while. And yeah I completely agree on editing being very hard, but i guess after doing it for so long they eventually get used to it and it becomes much easier for them. Im with you on vlogmas videos being very entertaining, I think thats my favourite period of time to watch youtube vlogs. During the entire month of December we get to watch Youtubers prepare themselves for christmas, get all their shopping done and visit their friends and family. MoreZoella's vlogmas videos were definitely some of my favourites to watch as well!

  2. I love vlogs, so much so that sometimes I waste an entire day watching them. I'm not kidding! Time flies when you're watching them and they're usually very entertaining. I love a good vlog, but some are SO long and just suck. They try too hard to make it funny which gets awfully annoying. If a YouTuber can keep me interested for the entirety of his or her video, no matter how long, then I subscribe right away. If not, I don't go near that button. I have too many favourites to mention but some of the ones you mentioned above are definitely on my list.

    1. I love vlogs too! I usually watch them before I go to bed. Thing is when I'm watching 7 minute vlogs all i can think is "why is this so short " and "why bother posting this". Then again when I'm watching 20-30 minute vlogs.. I notice i skip through parts i think are "useless" to watch lol. Im more into vloggers who put out 10-15 minute vlogs, not too long, not too short :)

  3. To be honest, I don’t really like vlogs. I feel like they’re pretty boring because I don’t really care about what their daily lives consist of. Even if I do try to watch one, I never make it to the end of the video, but I do understand that these Youtubers have fans that do care so there’s no point in complaining.

    1. I understand your opinion about vlogs, not everyone is a fan of them. It takes a while to get used to them. When i watched my first vlog I thought they were pretty lame and useless. then I started to notice the Youtubers I loved had a second channel specifically made for vlogging. I found them way more interesting than just any other vlogger because I would wonder how their life was outside of their main channel.
